Nicole Roerick is an advocate for movement and expression and her main mediums are Yoga, Dance, and Pilates. Originally from Fargo, ND, she knew that she needed to explore more places and get out of her comfort zone. She received her BFA in Dance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her MFA in Dance from Florida State University. She became more heavily interested in Yoga during graduate school and went to complete her first 200 hour training in 2010. She dabbled with Pilates but went down the Yoga road at this point in time. She lived in Austin, TX and New York City after graduate school where she taught Yoga and Dance and also made work and performed as a Dance Artist. She was given the opportunity to teach Dance abroad at an International School in Cairo, Egypt and lived there for 4 years from 2014-2018. She continued to teach youth and adults and make work and also wanted to learn more and completed 200 more hours of Advanced Yoga training, a Teen Yoga certification, and found her way back into Pilates. She completed her Stott Pilates Mat and Reformer certification courses and is now living in San Diego, CA.
She loves to fuse her knowledge and experience into her teachings and hopes to inspire others to move. She believes that movement is for EVERYONE and hopes to create a space for all bodies in her classes, whether in the virtual world or in person. She embraces discomfort and the unknown and allowing the body and mind to find their way through. Her movement practices have allowed her to find strength, mobility, healing, body awareness, and so much more. She is an anatomy junkie and loves to incorporate functional movement patterns into her teaching.
