Dance is my first love. I didn’t start dancing seriously until college when I decided that I wanted to study Dance. I have experience with many different forms but Modern/Contemporary Dance is what gives me the most freedom to express. The work that I make as a Dance Artist relates to what is happening in the world and my own experience. I have always been interested in researching themes for my work that go much deeper than just movement. Gender, race, and political/social issues are what I pay attention to when making work.

I have always been interested in Choreography since the beginning of my Dance endeavors. I find that I am most in my body when creating and exploring movement and pushing the body to its limits. When I involve others in my work I am bringing their story into the work. Collaborative work is something that interests me and finding different mediums/artists to work with.

Teaching Dance is also a huge passion of mine. I have worked with youth and adults in schools and in studios. I believe that Dance Education serves an important role and movement is vital in development. I also am a strong believer that ANYONE can dance and it is such an incredible way to move stuck energy.
